Cooler Cleanse FAQ

    • CLEANSING 101
    • Yes, of course we do. Our bodies cleanse, detoxify and heal imbalances all day long. It’s our human design. But our modern lifestyles overload these built-in corrective processes. Restaurant dining, take-out food, late-night meals and drinks stress our natural cleansing systems. Add to that our consumption of caffeine and medications in an environment filled with dirty air, impure water and invisible chemicals, and it is clear we’re making more demands of our bodies’ detoxification and healing systems than they can handle. They may get by day-to-day, but they don’t flourish. Over time, toxins build up in the body and the results can be small imbalances like aches, allergies, poor digestion and weight gain, or even an ongoing sense of fatigue.

    • You can! This is an important long-term strategy to surviving and thriving today. But so many people already do this and still feel less than their best. From time-to-time, all people, no matter their lifestyles, need a total break from processing even healthy foods so that digestive energy can be spent on detoxification and healing. Rich foods, caffeine drinks and alcohol are, for most people, enjoyable. If that’s you, there’s no reason to cut out everything you love forever. What most of us want is balance. A juice cleanse is a powerful tool you can use to start new healthy habits, and heighten your awareness of what you want to put into your body so you can make the best choices for creating a balanced life.

    • At Cooler Cleanse we like to avoid “shoulds.” But we believe everyone–from health nuts to party animals-is a candidate for cleansing because we are all affected by toxins in the air, water, food and environment. We are all fatigued by stress and the pace of life to some degree. Note: Certain people shouldn’t cleanse. Pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers can add cold-pressed juices to a balanced, whole-food diet to enjoy extra nutrition and energy, but should never restrict solid food intake. If you are diabetic, we recommend that you cleanse under the supervision of an experienced healthcare practitioner. If you are being treated for, or have just recovered from a serious illness, or if you are taking prescription medication for heart disease, check with your doctor before beginning a juice cleanse. Cleansing can alter the concentration of medication in the blood. Children under the age of 18 should not cleanse.

    • A juice cleanse of any kind requires commitment. But the Cooler Cleanse is a nutritional cleanse, not a starvation fast. It has been expertly designed to feed your cells with delicious, low-calorie juices in order to create the best conditions for inner cleansing. Nutritional cleanses are functional, supportive detox programs that can be undertaken on your normal schedule. They’re more moderate than faddish lemon-and-water fasts. Such extreme fasting programs are at best, uncomfortable, and at worst, dangerous.

    • Signing up once doesn’t sign you up for life. Try a Cooler Cleanse, and then take it at your own pace. Some people cleanse once a year, some do it every six months and some do it once a season or even once a month. The benefit of eliminating stimulants and heavy foods is that you start to sense what your own body needs. Most people prefer to cleanse periodically throughout the year.

        • Yes. The following people should not cleanse: new or expectant mothers, patients being treated with a serious illness, cardiac patients on prescription medication, diabetics, and children under 18. Please consult your doctor if you are on any medication that might be affected by a reduced diet.
        • You will consume approximately 1,000 calories each day during each cleanse.
        • At checkout, you can select your date of delivery when you place your order. FedEx will deliver your coolers Tuesday through Friday for national deliveries. Visit our shipping page to learn more about national and local deliveries, as well as local pick up.
        • The 1-Day and 3-Day Cooler Cleanses will be delivered all at once. The 5-Day Cooler Cleanse involves two deliveries, one on the morning you start and one in the middle of the cleanse, on day three.
        • Our juices are hydraulically pressed and no preservatives are added. We use HPP (a cold water pressure method) to kill any bacteria and safely extend the shelf life of our cold-pressed drinks. Check the expiration date on the bottle.
        • We use High Pressure Processing, (HPP) for our bottled juices and shots to destroy potentially harmful bacteria while keeping all of the nutrients. HPP is a method of preserving the juice using extremely high pressure.
        • We recommend it. There is a method behind our menu, so we encourage you to enjoy all six each day. You will not speed your cleanse by skipping drinks.
        • We urge you to follow the plan we’ve created to help you achieve maximum results. It’s not the end of the world if you switch things around, but please start each day with the green juice for optimal nutrient absorption.
        • Feeling hungry is a normal part of adjusting to a cleanse, and some people experience it more than others. Here are our tips for coping with it:
          1. Consume your juices slowly and conscientiously. Think of each juice as a meal, not a drink.
          2. Take a moment to sit with hunger instead of reacting to it. Drink a glass of water slowly. See if you can accept having an empty feeling rather than one of fullness.
          3. Do what it takes to commit to this process. Writing about it, doing your Cooler Cleanse with a buddy, or pledging your goals to friends and family can be surprisingly helpful.
        • Visit before and after for a list of foods you should avoid during the cleanse.
        • No. You should be able to function normally.
        • Not everyone responds to a juice cleanse in the same way. Our cleanses are designed to minimize the negative effects that can accompany the removal of accumulated toxins, such as body odor, skin eruptions, and bad breath.
Cleansing can trigger a noticeable shift and even some symptoms. It’s not uncommon to have headaches from caffeine withdrawal or hunger, and to feel a bit irritated. On a longer cleanse, you may feel something akin to cold or flu symptoms, but it will pass. All these may be more pronounced if you typically eat a diet high in processed foods. If any of these symptoms appear, take it easy, let your body do its work, and try to avoid taking chemical medication.
        • Juice cleanses are designed to give your body the nutrients it needs. The goal is not extreme weight loss in a short period, nor would that be considered healthy. What Cooler Cleanse will help you do is make healthy lifestyle changes that support weight loss.
        • Try your very best to avoid this, as you will slow down your progress—but don’t give up if it happens. Get back on, continue your juice cleanse, and be patient with yourself. It will be worth it!

              • The 1-Day and 3-Day Cooler Cleanse require only one delivery of juices on the morning you start.
              • The 5-Day Cooler Cleanse involves two deliveries—one on your first morning and another on your third morning. If you are purchasing a 5-Day Cooler Cleanse, you must start on a Tuesday or Wednesday to ensure timely delivery of your second shipment of juices.
            • We ship via FedEx shipping. Depending on your location, some juices may arrive as late as 5:00pm. You will also receive a tracking number via email the day before your scheduled delivery date, so you can track your order on Fedex.com. We recommend that you start your cleanse on the day the juices are delivered to ensure freshness.
            • Due to weather conditions or other FedEx delays, your package may arrive after the estimated time. Don’t worry – your juices are packaged to stay cold and will remain fresh. Snack on a piece of fruit and sip on plenty of herbal tea and water until they arrive. If your delivery arrives later in the day, it is perfectly fine to wait and start your cleanse the next day. Just make sure you refrigerate your juices as soon as possible and keep them unopened until you are ready to drink them. We are unable to issue shipping refunds due to a FedEx delay.
            • We ship your juices inside an inflatable insulated liner that converts a cardboard box into a cooler. Your juice will arrive packed in ice and chilled to approximately 40 degrees. The juices should be refrigerated as soon as you receive your delivery to ensure that they remain fresh.
            • We do not offer refunds after your order is confirmed. If you need to change or postpone your order, you must notify us at least 72 hours before your start date. We will give you a credit to use at any available time in the following 12-month period. For example, if you are scheduled for a Thursday start date, you must inform us of changes by 9 a.m. Monday. We do not offer credit for cancellations made less than 72 hours before your start date. We cannot offer credit if you cancel during the cleanse. If there are medical reasons for canceling after the 72-hour deadline, we ask you to submit a doctor’s note. Requests for credit based on medical issues will be handled on an individual basis. We reserve the right to make decisions case by case.
